A successful programme of guided field trips taught by on-site education rangers

Lulworth has a reputation as one of the best places to study on the South Coast.  Every year, several thousand students take advantage of the unique natural resource an our on-site teaching facilities based in the Heritage Centre.

This will be our 13th year offering taught field sessions including:

  • Lulworth Minitour - A cross circular introduction to Lulworth for younger pupils

  • Rocks and Landforms - Basic geology, coastal landforms and their development

  • Habitats and Ecology - The ecology and management of chalk downland and habitat

  • Tourism and Conservation - Managing a 'honeypot' site - conflicts and solutions

  • Data Collection - Opportunities for practical hands-on investigations

This beautiful and dramatic coastline is now recognised as a World Heritage Site and provides the perfect environment to study outdoors.  The Heritage Centre has displays that are bright, colourful, simple to understand and relevant to curriculum topics.  A lecture room in the Heritage Centre adds to the facilities.

Why not let experienced site rangers with local knowledge teach your group? To discuss or book a session, please telephone the rangers on 01929 400155
